My Sitecore Contributions 2024

The annual Sitecore Contributions blog is here! In this blog, I list most of the contributions I made through the year 2024 and I will utilize this blog for submitting my Sitecore MVP application 2025. So let’s get started!

Content

These were the blogs I wrote in the year 2024:

I was pleased to be at the Sitecore SUGCON Europe event in Dublin which took place in April this year. The energy and enthusiasm, like every year, was palpable and it was the first official event for the new CEO, Dave O'Flanagan, that too at his home city in Dublin. There were numerous highlights from the 2 day event and I tried to capture some of it through my blog.

Through my next blog, I tried to share my XM Cloud learnings to the Sitecore Community. The learnings were through various Sitecore User Groups I attended both in person and online events as well as other channels like Sitecore Discover videos in Youtube, Sitecore Documentation and Sitecore Slack.

This is another learning I gathered while working on an XM Cloud Project and I thought it might be useful for someone in the community.

Through Sitecore Symposium in Nashville, Sitecore presented it’s shiny new offering called “Sitecore Stream“, an intelligent integration of AI into all the Sitecore products. I tried to provide my perspective on this new capability through the blog.

Through this blog, I tried to share my learnings on Serialization in Sitecore XM Cloud. I tried to capture all the necessary components of Serialization, explaining them in detail and also how Sitecore CLI could be leveraged to pull items from a local Sitecore XM Cloud instance and push items to a remote instance.

Speaking Engagements

This year I was a speaker at only one event but I’m really proud of it as I was the second speaker of this newly formed Sitecore User Group called SUG Kolkata. Kolkata, the city of Joy, happens to be my birth place and being part of the SUG Kolkata, albeit as a speaker, gave me immense pride.

Sitecore Community and Sitecore Slack

This year I could contribute with only 1 answer in the Sitecore Community website:

https://community.sitecore.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=9401314dc3898610e31957aeb00131a6

However, I was more active in Sitecore Slack this year and I tried to help the Sitecore community members with answers as well as seeking help from them with my own queries. I tried to capture some of the messages from Slack conversations below:

Sitecore StackExchange

I also made contributions in Sitecore StackExchange but far less than what I would have liked. However, Sitecore StackExchange reckons that I’ve reached out to 34k people although this number is through the history of SSE and not 2024 alone.

Some of the answers I provided in the platform are as follows:

Social Media

I use LinkedIn more as compared to other social media platforms and as such most of my Social Media contributions for Sitecore come from this platform.

My content impressions for 2024 was over 55k, an impressive number and way more than 2023!

Some of my top performing posts include:

Sitecore Events and Certifications

I was fortunate to attend the Sitecore SUGCON Europe in Dublin this year. Apart from this, I attended various Sitecore User Group events online as well as SUGNL in person.

This year I appeared for as many as 4 Sitecore Certifications with a success rate of 50 percent. While I passed the Sitecore XM Cloud and Sitecore Content Hub certifications, I narrowly missed out on Sitecore CDP and Personalize certifications, something for next year perhaps.

Sitecore survey, feedback and support cases

I was able to complete more surveys and feedbacks this year. Some of the feedback and surveys I completed are as follows:

  • Optimalsort by Optimal Workshop - A survey to help organize the content of the website

  • Website Creation and Management survey - A survey on website creation and management

  • Survey Part 2 of Optimal Workshop - A Treejack optimal workshop survey for content organization and improvements

  • Provided feedback on Content Hub One Learning Course

  • Contributing Sitecore Content Hub Developer Certification by taking the BETA Exam

  • Various other surveys for Sitecore Learning after completing courses on Sitecore CDP, Personalize, XM Cloud and Content Hub

Sitecore Support Cases raised:

  • CS0503465 - Federated Authentication in Sitecore XM Cloud. Sitecore have registered it as a feature request

  • CS0506400 - Unable to deploy custom roles in Sitecore XM Cloud

  • CS0518707 - Editing Rich Text in Sitecore XM Cloud Explorer. Sitecore have registered it as bug for this case.

Conclusion

These were my contributions towards Sitecore in this year. I hope to make more meaningful contributions next year to this wonderful platform which continues to evolve and improve both itself and everyone associated with it.

Till then, Happy Sitecoring!
